The Review of Global Studies (RGS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal that adopts an interdisciplinary approach to the scholarly exploration of global developments and international relations. Published three times a year in English by Manohar Publishers and Distributors on behalf of the Organisation for Diaspora Initiatives (ODI), New Delhi, the journal presents advanced analyses of global issues drawing insights from across the social sciences, including international relations, economics, politics, public policy, development studies, transnational mobility, migration, identity, history, and critical theory. The Review of Global Studies examines the roles of state and non-state actors, international organisations, and civil society in shaping global processes, and maintains rigorous double-blind peer review involving a minimum of two reviewers. The journal is scheduled for publication from May 2026 and welcomes submissions for both regular and special issues.
Comprehensive Security Studies (CSS) is an international academic journal with global coverage which focuses on defence, military, and external conflicts related to states, as well as on the internal security issues of a state and its citizens. It addresses security issues across a wide range of threats, including on political, socio-cultural, environmental, human rights, food, livelihood, and gender-related security concerns.
Globalization has introduced new dimensions of security challenges emerging from diaspora connections, international migrations, border fluidity, multiple citizenship regimes, and other transnational processes. As a result, powerful forces of transnationalism increasingly shape the global landscape.
Consequently, the security of the world, states, communities, and individuals is being challenged by these dynamics and non -state actors. Security can no longer be seriously discussed by focusing exclusively, or even predominantly, on military affairs, foreign policy considerations, and economic concerns, particularly when radical and unscrupulous sub-state actors challenge democratic and pluralistic societies.
The defensive response to such threats is often dramatically impaired when these actors are embedded within civilian populations; in such cases, issues of legitimacy take centre stage, often at the expense of more traditional security considerations.
In this context, ‘Comprehensive Security’ does not merely imply the absence of war or conflict, but rather it embodies a broader notion of sustainable and inclusive peace.
Aims and Objectives of the Journal of Comprehensive Security Studies (CSS)
To advance a comprehensive and multidisciplinary understanding of security that extends beyond traditional military perspectives.
To provide a global platform for research on internal and external security challenges.
To examine emerging security issues shaped by globalization, migration, and transnationalism.
To encourage innovative and high-quality research, including theoretical and empirical contributions.
To maintain rigorous academic standards through peer-reviewed and original scholarship.
When you have new research findings, theoretical insights, methodological innovations, or critical perspectives to share, the journal welcomes your contributions. It seeks to publish high-quality, original research articles, review papers, case studies, that push the boundaries of scholarship and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of security studies.
All manuscripts will be double blind peer reviewed by minimum of two reviewers and subject to similarity checks before they are accepted for publication.
